Why We Built FMN

FMN wasn't born from a business plan.

It started from watching people close their laptops at 9pm after already putting in a full day on site.

Watching my partner and friends spend hours every night writing quotes, chasing paperwork, answering messages and doing admin that nobody really talks about when they talk about running a trade business.

The work never seemed to end.

I work in product during the day, and I kept thinking that surely there had to be a better way.

Not another complicated system.

Not software that needs a manual to understand.

Just one place that helps with the everyday stuff, so people can spend less time jumping between apps and more time doing what they actually enjoy.

I'm not a tradie.

I haven't spent years on the tools.

But I've spent years building products, and I know what good software should feel like.

So I started building FMN.

Nights, weekends, and whenever I could find the time.

It's still early, and there's plenty to improve, but that's also why we're building it alongside the people who use it.

FMN isn't here to replace experience, relationships or hard work.

It's just here to make the admin side a little less painful.

Because after a long day, people deserve to knock off properly.
